Hampshire Perry

tempNew for 2014, this classic perry is a little bit of a mystery - the pears are sourced from an old, disused pear orchard near to Southampton simply called 'Old Pear'. The varieties are almost certainly dessert varieties however, making this typical of the kind of heritage pears available in Hampshire.

With a floral nose and a mild fruity taste, there are acid notes with very little/no tannin. This perry is delicate and naturally medium dry.

It is available either in draught (traditionally still), or in bottle (naturally bottle conditioned). As a traditionally made perry, expect a small amount of yeast sediment in bottles, or a slightly hazy draught.

All 146 Cider Company cider and perry is full juice (<98%), and contain sulphites (to help preserve the cider and to control things).

Awards

Hampshire Perry cider won 'Cider/Perry of the Festival' at the CAMRA Southampton Beer Festival 2014, in a public voted competition against 4 other perries and 15 ciders.

Provenance

At 146 Cider, we are very proud of our heritage methods and high quality cider. To demonstrate this, we publish the ingredients not only on the labels but also as an archive to this website. If you have a bottle in front of you, check out the archive to see what went in to it.
